Financier Sir Charles Hendra, on the brink of ruin, contemplates ending his own life. After pondering the difficult decision, Charles decides to invite twelve similarly desperate individuals to dinner so they can all discuss their problems. Will his generosity change the course of their lives?

Indeed, man craves to eat and George Geef (Goofy) is no exception. He eats like it's going out of style. Finally, his reflection in the mirror tells him he's getting too fat. Goofy starts showing all the signs of being overweight. When he gets into a taxi, the back tires deflate. When he gets into an elevator, the elevator remains grounded. Goofy's reflection "helps" him lose weight by refusing to let him eat. Geef thinks he can resist but is soon upset by all manner of temptations. He goes to bed but sleepwalks to the refrigerator only to discover it is empty. It turns out his reflection ate all the food telling him, "Eat, drink, and be merry, and tomorrow we diet!"

Julie Bronson (Jean Parker), whose father, "Pop" Bronson (Emmett Lynn) operates a desert café, is attracting the unwanted attention of a half-crazed gangster known as The Ghost (Ricardo Cortez) who runs a desert night club several miles away. The Ghost knows that "Pop" Bronson is an escaped convict and blackmails him into using his desert shack as a warehouse for "hot" stolen rubber tires to be sold on the Black Market. In an effort to save her father, Julie sends her sweetheart, Bob Lord (William Marshall) an army lieutenant stationed at a nearby desert camp, away. A rival gang, led by Kohler (Frank Hagney), wrecks the crime czar`s "pleasure of palace" and gives him a beating. The Ghost, believing Pop Bronson responsible, goes to his desert café and brutally shoots him before the horrified eyes of Julie.

Iran 1979. The Islamic Revolution is shaking up the country. Dissident Omid, who lived for several years in the German Democratic Republic with his wife, chemical engineer Beate and their mutual daughter, hears the call from his homeland and returns to Teheran with high hopes and best intentions, bringing along his family.

The overworked and exhausted architect Leon longs for a shoulder to lean on. His confident girlfriend Jenni, however, is angry he's always working and doesn't have time for their relationship. Unexpectedly, Leon's 3D-architecture program produces a digital copy of Jenni. And the digital Jenni helps him get better without asking for anything... Stuck between his strong girlfriend and her always-friendly copy, Leon is looking for a possible relationship.
